Anyone care to offer any likes or dislikes to using this for filming lifts. Seems like a pretty cheap way to use your phone to film.

For as long as I can remember, I used a box/bench and a stack of 5-10lbs plates as a tripod. It worked fine. If you'd rather not look like a weirdo and/or you'd rather have a more convenient way to do it, the Perchmount works well for that. Rogue carries the product if you prefer to go through them.

Full disclosure: I do make a commission if people buy this product through my website/link.

I got 2 tripods and a bracket to mount my phone for $25 on Amazon.

    One is like this: http://cdn.chv.me/images/thumbnails/...mb_400x400.jpg

The other is a real tripod.

The first one sucks and I never use it. The second one is awesome. It lets me get the same height/angle, or a precise angle when needed. Of course though, I'm not in a commercial gym, so I don't feel awkward using it.

I've used the stacked plate or bench approach, but a tripod works way better. I also, hate videos from the ground, lol.

I have the flex tripod that gtl above doesn't like. But I like it.

Generally I hook the flex tripod on the back of a chair, but I've also attached it to upright vacuum cleaners and plate trees etc. It fits in a gym bag.

these are very cool, but do I need to add more items to my gym bag? I'm already getting a pump carting it around!
