Rip - I was crossfitting for almost a year when I went to a local globo gym near my house to work on my CFT. Crossfit had me weighing at 175 lbs
(30yrs old 5'11) with a 265lb 1RM squat. Since I was squatting correctly (bellow parallel) I figured this was a decent squat and the other doorknobs at the gym didnt have a clue. In comes this beast of a guy, probably weighing around 225, mid 30's and looked like he was a running back or a line backer for some big college back in the day. He was squatting correctly doing 315'S for reps, heavy deads, and heavy rows.
I immediately took stock of myself and came to the realization that although I could complete crossfit workouts with pretty good times - I looked like a weak pussy and even worse I kinda was. I wanted to be that beast. So I bought SS and followed the program exactly as prescribed.
10 weeks in and I'm at the globo gym again and in comes the beast I was talking about. This time we shared the rack and worked with the same weights. After I left, I'm thinking the whole time- Damn am I like that fuking beast now?

Here is where I am at the 11 week mark. (i had to reset 2* due to a vacation, and a wrist injury)

    30/5'11/208 lbs
    Squat: 350lb 1RM (315 3*5)
    Deadlift: 405lb 1RM (365 1*5)
    Overhead Press: 175lb 1RM (155 3*5)
    Power Clean: 185lb 1RM (165 5*3)
Bench: 275lb 1RM (cant bench anymore-hurts my shoulders when I sleep)

    Before SS:
    32/5'11/175lbs
    Squat: 265lb 1RM
    Deadlift: 385lb 1RM
    Press: 150lb 1RM
    PC: 180 1RM
    Bench: 225

You may not be THAT beast, but you're certainly becoming beast-like. You'll also find that your metcon has not suffered much at all, if you care to try it again soon. And you are still in the early stages, not yet making efficient use of your new bodyweight. You will.

I am most impressed by the fact you are now two years younger thanks to SS!!! Glad I just ordered it!

Thanks Rip - The best part is that the only reason I tested my 1RM was because i got shitfaced on Saturday night, was hungover all day on Sunday, still felt like shit on Monday - so I figured I would take it easy. I PR'd my 1RM on all 3 CFT lifts.

The age effect was omitted from the book to to the supply/availability problems that would have resulted. We have more inventory, so now it can be revealed.
