I think you should try the novice progression for as long as you can make linear progress between workouts. If you're an intermediate, this will last about 5 workouts, and if you're a novice it will last much longer.
Coach,
I have been crossfitting for a couple of years now but started on the texas method after reading ss and believing this was right for me as I lifted above what an intermediate should.
My lifts are going up and i am making good progress. However, I realise now that it is not the weight that i can lift but my adaptation to the program. Would you recommend i switch back to the novice program?

I think it's important to note that just because you are either a CrossFitter or strong, that doesn't mean you are automatically a candidate for intermediate programming.
And this is coming from a CrossFit coach.
I'l try that. I gained 30lbs in 6 weeks, some of which is fat, but not (from what i can tell) alot. I do recover well using this method, and increases in lifts are consistent. Thanks for the reply,
