Default Tibalis anterior & leg imbalance problems

    Hey coach,
I've been on SS since march, and am now bigger and stronger than I've ever been(which wasn't exactly hard). I'm planning to move onto the Texas method within the next few weeks.
I've gained about 40lbs with more of a BF% increase than I would like but it ain't the end of the world.

A problem has developed with my legs though. Over the past few weeks I've noticed that my left quad(indeed, nearly all my left leg muscles) is smaller than my right. And I've also started to get a strange pain in my left tibialis anterior when lying down and lifting my leg, say. Or sometimes even when walking.
If I put my left leg into full extension it can be quite painful in the area where my shins meet my knee.

The first thing I looked at was my squat, in which I noticed I tend to put my right foot closer to the midline of my body, and therefore tend to push off it more. I'm on my way to rectifying this problem and think left adductor flexibility is the problem. I'm assuming a reset of the weight along with a conscious effort to keep my feet at the appropriate angles and width specified will mend this problem before it gets any worse(I'm only squatting 225 so I don't think it's that big an issue yet).

The pain shooting down the front of my left shin is my main worry though. At only 20 years of age, I'm quite worried to have such a problem. Have you yourself or your trainees experianced such an issue...?

Not there, no. Are your legs the same length?

Er... to the best of my knowledge, yes.

On wednesday I took about 22.5kgs off my workset weight and really took my time with foot placement and my warmup. The pain and sensation seem to have subsided substantially already and I intend to add 5kgs onto my squat until I reach my original numbers again. I even got my new deadlift PR pretty easy today.

It certianly was a strange sensation to have in the front of my shin though. It occaisionally travelled up to my knee. But I was running for a bit on it yesterday and alll seemed well, no pain at all.
I also used to go almost 'ass-to-grass' with my squats which probably exacerbated the problem.
