    Coach Rip,

I read through the chapter on the press in SS and reviewed some of the videos on YouTube but still have questions about the grip used on the press. Would it be fair to say that the upper arm should be near parallel to the bar, from my viewpoint? Aside from the forward position of the elbow, do you have any other suggestions as to what other visual cue I could use to make sure my grip/position is optimal?

    Thanks!

Try as I may, I cannot get my humerus parallel to the bar when I walk out here and experiment with your observation. Perhaps you have mis-stated.

Sorry about the mis-type coach. I am struggling a bit about the arm position for the press. Am I to mimic the rack position in the clean? Or am I to use a wider grip? Thanks for your help.

Have people stopped reading my books? Are they suddenly unavailable? Have the censors from Men's Health banned them somehow?

The real fucking problem is people can't plagiarise your books as easily as they can plagiarise your DVDs, so there is not as much interest (demand) due to not being able to illegally obtain a copy. This may (not) apply to the OP, but I'm tired of it, personally. Rip, you must go fucking nuts!

    To the OP:
Read the book(s), watch the fucking DVD (after you've legitimately purchased it), repeat both steps again and then if you still have questions, ask away.

    Rant over.

Agreed 100%. And if you are on this forum and serious about lifting, why in the hell would you not spend $20 or so to get the book?
