The squats look very good. It may be that you need a wrist cue at your last warmup next workout to see if that keeps everything tighter. That little change in bar position at the bottom may have a more profound effect than you think.
First set of x5x5: 365x5, the first
Fifth and last set of 5x5: 365x5, the last
Got some ribbing from the very large, very strong competitive multi-ply powerlifters about the suicide grip and the good morning lean...and the USAPL in general. I pointed out that when outnumbered three to one by larger, stronger men from other federations, it's best to agree and to do so with very evident good humor.
Very good training day, however. Got to talk about Ron Paul, Murray Rothbard, liberty, the state, etc. with one of the guys (the one who held the camera and whom I spotted on his raw bench with 405 for sets and reps). The man who spotted me on the squat has himself squatted a little over 1000 lbs in a multi-ply fed.
Overall I'm happy with the back angle I managed to maintain except the fourth rep of the fifth set. Set four went unrecorded, but it was probably my strongest set. Back angle obviously gets hard for me to maintain at rep three and my hips shoot up a little from that point on and my shoulders play catch up. I am looking very slightly down, but if I tuck my chin too much, then my hips shoot too much for my liking.
Stance may seem a bit wide, but I swear that it's on the very edge but still within the bounds of shoulder width.
Wrists bend a bit, but I also swear that they stay perfectly straight with 315 and below.
Thanks for taking a look.

Gary, I have to say, this is the first time I've seen you since you put on weight, and you're looking good (no homo), much more formidable physical presence now. Congrats on the lifting and the weight gain.

Your sure a new guy, Matt. This is primarily a libertarian/free market board.
From my log:
Today I experimented with changes to the SS SQ I've been doing. Fixed gaze higher and angled head up as I went into the hole. This had a profound positive effect on my ability to maintain back angle.
Warm up/Form check w/ 225.
Warm up/Form check w/ 315.
Warm up/Form Check w 335. Belt added, wrists remaining straight in hole.
First work set of six w light day 345x2.
Fixing my gaze at a point eye level when I'm standing seems to help make my squat less segmented. The hips don't shoot up at the sticking point, followed by a rise. Granted this is all with light weights for easy reps. I'll see how much looking straight ahead helps when things get really heavy. Next heavy session in a few hours (I need to get some sleep) with 385x4x4.
Reason, Liberty, and some new books. It'd be worth another visit just to take a shit here, Tom.
Wrists good, back angle good. What are you weighing now, Gary?
I'm ~185 these days and hoping to weigh a little under 182 on Feb 20. Going to 198 for the Raw Nationals in summer and then over 200 after that.

First set of three and I think I'm managing to keep the back angle pretty well. I recorded my warm ups, too, but d-bags kept walking in front of the camera.
