Programming - Pressing twice a week every week
I'm starting PP, but I'm not sure how to program for my situation.
I'm 6'2, 210# and my DL 5RM is 380, my bench 5RM is 265, but my press and squat blow in comparison. I spent a year trying different methods to be able to squat below parallel before finding your books which makes it so simple (don't know how it took me so long to find out about SS!). So I'm just learning to squat correctly and I've changed my press to the form you describe, so my 5rm for press is only 135. Oh and I've never Power Cleaned before.
I was thinking starting with the novice program from PP, but not alternating Press and BP between weeks so that I would press 2x a week every week in an effort to catch my press up. I guess I'm wondering if this is too much pressing? Should I stick with the template (pressing twice one week, then benching twice the next)?

Twice a week for a couple of months would catch you up, but be careful about taking jumps that are too big. You can do it if you are careful about microloading.
