    Hi Coach,

I have read the "Nutrition and Bodyweight" section of your second addition Starting Strength book and the YNDTP article and I am still slightly confused.

    I am 6'5, 235lb, around 25% BF, 16 years old.

On the YNDTP you state that a low carb no dairy diet is ideal for the overweight trainee, and you do not have to change the diet for as long as you're on the Starting Strength routine. You also stated that if you continue to eat properly this way, you should be at around 15-17% BF in 8 months. The thing I do not understand is that you didn't state a number of calories an overweight trainee should consume daily during the routine.

Could you please enlighten me on how many calories I should consume?

Sorry if I've gotten anything wrong - please refer me to the page of the book if the answer I'm seeking is already there.

I didn't specify the calories because if you're eating a low-carb no-dairy hi-proteen diet you'll find it hard to eat too many. One less thing to worry about.
