Do reps start at the bottom or at the top?

I've done your program, pressed as you instructed, but then switched to oly press (pressed 170 8x3 today) I've also kept doing reps from the top as you teach.

I saw this post the other day.

And I basically press like that, but unlike him, I start at the top.
You said his form was great, and he starts from the bottom.
Am I to conclude that starting from the bottom is then the best way of doing this variation?
I've tried it today, after realizing that the oly press was giving her a very hard time, and it felt better.

    Thanks.

In the Olympics, there was only one rep, after a clean. So they started at the bottom.

Yes, all presses start at the bottom. But my question is, for the oly press variation, does one pause at the bottom after every rep? Unlike the press you teach in SS. Thanks.

Yes, they start at the bottom. All of them. If they are Olympic presses.

I have done presses with a "hip drive" (not the same hip drive as the squat), by bending back on the descent and then pushing the bar up. It's not an olympic press but it uses the same principle and it might be what Carnivroar is talking about.

For Carnivroar's purposes, it's the same thing.
