It probably doesn't hurt that much. But then again, I've had a cervical fusion at C6-7. I'd recommend a neutral neck position for prolonged non-surgical existence.
I asked this in Technique, but didn't really get a complete answer.
I found out that my head tilts up on heavy deadlifts, like the middle frames of this picture:
TBone said she had problems with from doing the same, but she has pre-existing physical issue with her neck, and then someone else pointed out this picture:
I know the book says where you're supposed to look, but would looking up be able to cause injury to someone with no neck issues?
I can take a video Friday if that will help.
