    Hi Mark,

In the Woojus Geeshman template in PPST2 the squat, bench and press max effort exercises are done in 5x5 across style. Could this be substituted for ramping up across 5x5? The book doesn't give RM percentages for that template so I can't work out where they lie on the heavy/medium/light scale in chapter 7. Thanks.

Are you asking whether 5x5 across could be replaced with 5x5 light ->heavy?

Yes, where the heaviest set of the ramping would be (or be very close to) a 5RM. I've read other threads where people have replaced the 5x5 across in the Texas method with this, but I'm unsure if it would apply to a split routine.

That is obviously not the intent of that particular variation of the split. But you can certainly try it both ways for yourself and see what happens.
