Default Fat and weak is no way to go through life

I found SS and bought the SS 2nd edition and PP books plus the SS DVD a few weeks ago. I did a few workouts trying to learn the movements then went on vacation. I am back and now ready to do this program.
I am 42 and 215 lbs at 5' 6". Not sure how accurate my body fat scale is but it has me at 44% yikes.
I have read a bunch of the logs here and am picking up a great deal of information. I am hoping that starting a log will keep me accountable and motivated.
I also have 3 kids boy 7, girl 8 and boy 9. I help coach in all their sports so am always finding excuses not to workout. With this being 3 days a week, if I don't have the discipline to get it done, how can I expect to make my kids push themselves.
I did my first workout last night and will start the post below.
I am hoping to learn as much as possible because starting next summer I would like to be able to gets my kids started with this program. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    All weights in lbs.

    Workout #1 08/23/11
    Squat - 95 3x5
    Bench - 95 3x5
    Dead - 115 1x5

The squat did not feel too heavy for my legs but my lower back was feeling a little tight. Maybe my form was not correct. Bench was pretty easy. Dead was also easy but I would rather start a little easy and be able to go longer with the LP.

    Workout #2 08/25/11

    Squat 115 3x5 (+20)
    Press 55 3x5
    PC 65 3x5

Jumped up 20 on the Squat, I think I started too low. Felt pretty good not too easy. Press felt ok, shoulders are pretty weak. Power Clean form is pretty bad. I was doing along with the video. Having a hard time racking, I had to take a more narrow grip but still did a number on my wrists. Needs a lot of work.

I really liked the title of your log, so I figured I'd give it a look over.

Most people here have a wealth of information. You only have to ask =). For my part, I will only add one piece of advice:

"Attack every set like you're INDOMITABLE."

Don't just go through the motions. Enjoy it. Rock it. Get lost in it

    Workout #3 8/29/11

was planning on doing yesterday but Hurricane Irene got in the way.

    Squat 125 3X5 (+10)
    Bench 115 3X5 (+20)
    Dead 135 1X5 (+20)

Squat went well. Bench I jumped up 20 because 95 was way too easy. Dead was no trouble. These all felt pretty good probably should have been my starting points. I will progress at the +5 increments now (10 for dead). Feels really good to be lifting again.

    Workout #4

    Squat 135 3x5 (+10)
    Press 65 3x5 (+10)
    PC 75 3x5 (+10)

Squat felt good. Press was a little tough, should only have gone up 5. PC weight does not seem bad but not racking right yet.
