Nice job. I hope they are now interacting with the BPHS. Break some bones next time.

Impressive. We didn't even have to send Jordan after them.
Had Jordan been there, well, things might have gotten ugly.
This brings up something I was going to post on here a couple months back but never did. A few months ago my girlfriend was sleeping alone in her car in a shady neighborhood and got held up at gunpoint by two men. She had to let them in the car, since she was in no position to drive away (was sleeping in backseat with keys not in ignition). They wanted more than just money, of course, so when they were distracted for a moment she took the opportunity to burst out of the car, dragging the guy who was holding on to her almost all the way out of the car with her. She then proceeded to sprint away to safety. They left shortly after that, since the commotion was too sketchy for them to stay long enough to steal the car.
Anyways, she's a weightlifter. She hadn't even been lifting much recently, but the strength left over from linear progression in squats, cleans, and deadlifts allowed her to escape from that situation. People don't think that strength really matters in a situation where someone has a gun, but it truly does. A weaker girl would not have escaped from the situation. I guess they didn't properly prepare to deal with a girl who could C&J 150 lbs.
Damn rapscallions and their tomfoolery!
Blaming the victim? Oh the horror. Hang on to your balls. The Valkyries will take them, instead of you, to Valhalla.
Risk reduction, risk avoidance, common fucking sense. Something in short supply these days.
Even with all that said and her nearly suicidal dumb-assery, that account does illustrate some basic principles that are not bad in application. Those are:
* Free yourself first. Don't stay to fight Charlies Angels style.
* Run to a safer place or those who can help you.
* Make noise to attract help. There's no definite indication she did that but the account implies that the bad guys got the Hell out of Dodge as a result of the commotion.
She got off to a really bad start. I'm just guessing here, but maybe sleeping off too much to drink. So one bad decision for a solo woman leading to a follow-on bad decision. But in the crunch, she got all her shit into one sock and saved her ass and really fast from a dead sleep. Lots of people fail that test. We all learn from our mistakes. Maybe.
I have never been more confident in my physical ability than when I visited London.
She did all three. I believe she does these sorts of things to test herself and prove to herself that she deserves to live. She's actually a borderline polymath in terms of intelligence, but that doesn't mean that she won't put herself in dangerous situations. She wasn't drinking. The part of the story that really pissed me off was when she went knocking on doors to try and get someone to call the cops and someone finally answered, they told her they called 911 but it was just a fucking lie. She started to get suspicious after a couple minutes and left to another house, where the old lady living there actually did call them.
But Rip, the moral of the story didn't involve common sense. It's just an example of a girl getting herself out of a bad situation due to strength. How she got there is irrelevant (to my main point). It's very possible OP got himself in that situation due to being stupid as well, but you didn't bring it up then. "Muggers" isn't a far shot from "ghetto people that I foolishly stared at too long."
