Question for Steve Hill
I've started single track mountain biking again with friends.
Problem is I am now really slow (no suprise) as I've not done any conditioning.
I'm still novice in all the lifts except deadlift. I'm 182lbs, 5 foot 9 and an Aries. Squat is 102.5kg 3 x 5, deadlift 140kg 1 x 5.
We bike a undulating track for an hour and a half on Sunday. Will I get faster over time just by doing that hour and a half or should I do extra?
Lifting takes priority for me if the two are mutually exclusive.

It's just a matter of how much you want to put into it. If you only ride 1x per week, progress is going to be slow, if there is any at all. I used to lift 2-3x per week, and ride 6x per week. If you want your Sunday rides to get better faster, you'll ride more. Only you can know how much more, I'm not coaching you, so I don't know your work schedule, time for training, etc. Just sit down and plan it out logically, understanding that you can recover from weightlifting while riding a bike and vice versa, if you plan your workouts carefully. You'll be fine.
