I have no Question, just some numbers I came across that I thought would be interesting to SS Forum regulars. It would have been nice if they included SVJ so we could see the correlation among SVJ, Squat and clean.

So Eli benches 135 and squats 266? Holy shit.

6'4", 317 lbs, and 22% bf? That doesn't seem possible.

Imagine how much better they would be if everybody could squat 455 for a set of 5.

    "455 isn't that heavy!"

I'm confident most of the team can. I have a hard time believing these numbers. I seriously doubt there's a single linebacker in the NFL who couldn't squat 500.

That said, in his end-of-season interview, Tom Coughlin emphasized that the team needed to get stronger.

I'm figuring the squat is fairly accurate, but I would guess the quarterbacks are tested on a "max reps @135?"

This might include practice squad, walk ons, etc. The article doesn't specify "starters", nor does it specify that these numbers are 1-rep maxes. Men's Health doesn't appear to me as a very scientific source.

No, not unless steroids and growth hormone were freely used...

Why does this not seem possible?
