It's about 5x too expensive and the amino acid content is about 1/2 what it should be.
You can do whey protein isolate, since there's almost no lactose in it.
Jordan,
I'm lactose intolerant, so can't do Whey. I've tried a few different plant based protein powders and landed on Vegasport. Here's a link to a picture of the Amino Acid profile on Amazon. Amazon.com: Vega Sport Performance Protein Powder, Chocolate, 29.5oz: Health & Personal Care. Let me know if that's not kosher (no pun intended) and I'll type it in manually.
My questions:
1) How good/bad is this compared to Whey?
2) Since I can't do Whey, is this good enough?
Note: I am a meat eater, but I use the protein powder to supplement about 25 to 35% of my protein macros.
Thx

Eggs are really cheap right now. The "Dollar Tree" stores in my area sell cartons of 18 for one dollar. So, for two dollars a day youcan get 216 grams of awesome protein and fats w no carbs. High quality stuff. Hard Boil up a batch every other day and call those your supplements. Superior in every way.
It is also affordable to supplement the lactase enzyme as a tablet.
I have never personally needed it, because I digest dairy like a god.
Thanks all - I have tried prior Whey with a Lactaid pill (or 2)...still had some symptoms. I'll give it a try again, make sure it is a whey protein isolate, and start slowly to see I can develop a tolerance to it.
Jordan - In addition to that, I was thinking of getting this from True Nutrition: https://truenutrition.com/p-1075-gra...olate-1lb.aspx (Beef Protein Isolate). Description from the website:
True Nutrition has developed an incredible alternative to whey with a protein and amino acid content that even rivals most whey protein isolates! Our new and improved Grass-Fed Beef Protein Isolate has been produced by boiling down the flesh of grass-fed cattle that have not been administered hormones or antibiotics, skimming the fat, drying the remaining aminos, and instantizing them in the spray-drying process for easy mixibility. The result? A clean and potent protein powder with over 90% protein per serving that is lactose-free and dairy-free! Although this material has a digestion rate that is slightly slower than whey, the amino acid profile speaks for itself.
thx again
