Hello mr Rippetoe
Getting close to my 5rm I find myself resting for about 3 seconds after rep 3 and 4 in order to complete the set of 5 reps.
Am I fooling myself and should I rest shorter (just lockout and descend) and not make it to 5 reps that day and try again next workout ?

Time between reps does not matter, unless it is extremely protracted, in which case the next rep will be shit anyway. If all 5 reps are technically correct, the set is good. In our strength acquisition model used in SS:BBT, we are primarily concerned with getting all the reps of the set, not so much with how long it takes.
