    Recently watched SS Radio where the idea of fat loss was discussed and if you’re a novice you shouldn’t really worry about cutting. I understood this was for the young guys on the programme but does this advice go for me too? I’m not new to training but I am a novice and on the NLP after a lay-off.
    I’m 48, 5’10, 243lb. Last session was;
    Squat 270 3x5
    Bench 170 3x5
    Deadlift 303 1x5
    Forgive the odd numbers, I’m in the U.K. and I’ve converted kilos to LBS.
    I ask as I’m not overly worried about the belly but my waste is over 40 inches. Should I seek to drop some of the belly with a calorie deficit or just get on with getting the numbers up and worry later?
    Thank you.

    You'd probably be able to lose some without any issue. Remember, The Book also recommends it for guys carrying too much weight.
