Hmmm, maybe the bitcoin pimps (cough-cough advocates) just might have partially lost the privacy and security from gubmint monitoring argument in their promotions of it. Then again, it's not entirely clear how the Fan Belt Inspectors actually cracked the private key. So maybe there's hope for the current iteration of the South Sea Bubble.

The only thing they cracked was the mind of the person who held the keys
I mean, he's posting, so isn't it something like the total number of words divided by one? He's quoting Reuters, so actually it'd be the (number of words +1) divided by one.

And I'm one of those rare libertarians who is not a fan of Bitcoin.
Bitcoin’s privacy/traceability has been suspect since the days of The Silk Road. A lot of people forget that it wasn’t just Ross Ulbricht indicted, but the Secret Service and DEA both had agents stealing Bitcoin during the investigation. Drug dealers in several countries were also later tracked down. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some way to “tag” certain crypto transactions, such as ransoms, to be able to track them. If you want privacy or security with your crypto use Z Cash or Monero.
