Mashing Taters
Background: I'm 24, 5'8", ~175 lbs, and hairy knuckles. I have been lifting irregularly for about the last 4 years. During that time I got sidetracked with stuff like a triathalon, soccer, college, and other stuff guys in their 20s do. No current injuries to speak of...the worst thing I've had is a torn deltoid back in the winter of '09.
My goal basically is just to get big and strong and maintain my dominance over my younger brothers in events like drunken wrestling and related feats of strength. I do play soccer one night a week in a relatively competitive men's rec league and if that slows my progress a little, so be it.
I'm going to begin working with the Onus Wunsler program.
Monday - August 2, 2010
Warmed up on the rowing machine.
Squat - 3x5x205
Press - 3x5x110 (belt)
Deadlift 5x205 (no straps, with chalk)
That was my first real lifting in about 4 months, all in all felt pretty good. I didn't use the belt for squats and deads as I want to make sure I have the form back down pat. Will probably use it in the next session.

Summary: I was not very disciplined this month...missed way too many workouts due to a combination of too many Phillies games, work, and overlapping soccer leagues. Going forward I will only have soccer one night a week and I will be on a deep team so I won't be playing too many minutes and therefore will interfere less with my progress.
A few positive takeaways: My form feels good on all the lifts. Made a little progress despite all the skipped workouts, poor eating, and excessive booze.
Things to change: Less drinking. Better scheduling/planning. Eat more.
