    Default Here We Go Again...

    Hi all,

I have had a hiatus from posting on this forum for a while and am now back in the saddle. I have had a few abortive attempts to get back up to my old lifts but work has been beating me down. Long story short I am back in action. I have been running SS for the last three months and have had a couple setbacks here and there but have managed to stay on course. Here is my old log:

    Antigeezerdom Log

    My old lifts:
    (WtxSetsxReps)
    Squat: 405x1x2
    Deadlift: 405x1x2
    Bench: 245x1x2
    Press: 165x1x2

This is my new log and I am currently:

    Squat: 235x3x5
    Deadlift: 285x1x5
    Bench: 175x3x5
    Press: 107.5x3x5

My goal is to move back to my old weights and kick some ass like I did last time around.

    12/31/15 Goal:

    Squat: 355x3x5
    Deadlift: 375x1x5
    Bench: 200x3x5
    Press: 130x3x5

    8/20/15

    Squat: 245x3x5
    Press: 107.5x3x5
    Deadlift: 295x1x5
    Barbell Curls: 52.5x3x8
    LTE: 55x3x8

Form was good and my foot has stopped hurting after two week old injury. Just fyi, I swear by lying triceps extensions (LTE) because, based on past experience, I need some assistance exercise to keep the bench/overhead press moving along. Curls…well they are curls….bro! Also don’t expect any power cleans out of this boy. I tried to master them at heavy weights (170ish) and failed miserably. I guess this dog ain’t gonna learn that trick y’all!

    ......and done!

    Squat: 260x3x5
    Bench: 177.5x3x5
    Deadlift: 305x1x5
    Curls: 55x3x8
    LTE: 57.5x3x8

Good workout today. I had a head of steam coming home due to work frustrations and I blew them all out on the bar. It's amazing what you can do when you focus and crush the lifts. I am truly hoping to match my maxes by the end of the year.

Thanks man. Learning how to balance career, life, and lifting is an art that I have not quite mastered but it will come in time.....I hope.

    9/2/15

    Squat: 270# 3x5
    Press: 108# 3x5
    Deadlift: 315# 1x5
    Curls: 57.5# 3x8
    LTE: 62.5# 3x8

Squats are starting to get legitimately hard now and I welcome the strain to complete the sets. I remember last time I pushed the starting strength template and I felt strain at about 225# so this is an awesome improvement. Press was easy peasy, which tells me I am right in terms of assistance exercise selection. LTE/Curls are what I need to support upper body lifts and I am going to stick to it. I am glad this time around I started the assistance exercise early in the process because I think I am going to delay the stall for a bit more.

    Deadlift….

What can I say. I used to be neurotic about this lift because it scared the hibbity jibbity out of me for fear of wreaking myself for work. I LOVE IT and I embrace the challenge of completing the lift as perfectly as I can. Yes I know these are modest lifts buuuttttttttt 405 DL and squat hooooo!
