Do you need the double overhand? They look decent.

You're going around your knees on the way down. Hips back, get the bar below the knees, then bend your knees forward. If you want to watch it in slow motion, watch where your hips are on the way up. Going back down, they should get to the same point.

I use alternating grip. I can feel the bar riding my thighs on the way as I lower the bar. I will check in slomo

    Thank you Karl

Sorry, that's what I meant. Do you need the alternating grip?

This was my topset, not a quest for a PR. Also my friend, before this set of DL I did 3 sets of squats 245 x 6,6,8. Aaaannnnndddd, followed this DL set with (2) 4" deficit sets of 275 x 3.
I have to remember to bring a flat brim hat next time. LOL.

    Thanks for your input.

Karl. I have a paralyzed left hand, my grip is compromised. I was able to get up to about 300 with overhand grip, I really didn't want to go to alternating.

Also, Karl I am having a hard time seeing what your described even using pause/play. It appears i initiate the descent with my hips and the bar is riding my quads. What should I be looking for?

    Thanks Karl

You're just going around your knees on the way down. Rip talks about it in the book. You need to send your hips back and get the bar below your knees before you allow the knee angle to close.

You can see it in the video. Put your mouse pointer right on your backside when you start your deadlift, in the side view, and you'll see that you never quite get it back there when you put it down. Whether you can see it or not, it's something to fix.
