Strength is our birthright. Strong is the normal phenotypic expression of the human genotype. Black Iron Loft exists as a safe haven for the pursuit of strength, both for its own sake, and for the positive effects it has on every aspect of the lifter’s life.
Training for strength using compound, full-range of motion exercises, loaded progressively with barbells is the path we choose in our pursuit of health, stress relief, performance improvement, character development, and increased self-confidence.
Muscular size is pursued at Black Iron Loft only as a means to increase strength, never for its own sake. Success is defined as lifting more weight today, this week, or this month than was lifted yesterday, last week, or last month. Period.
We encourage the consumption of nutritious, single-ingredient foods in adequate quantities to support strength gains in ourselves, while simultaneously working to break down the modern-day aesthetic of emaciation and undernourishment. We actively promote the idea that strength training makes women healthy and beautiful. We strive to become MORE, not Less, and we encourage others to do the same.
Everybody who lifts at Black Iron Loft shares the responsibility of spotting, coaching, and encouraging all of the other lifters, beginning the day they learn the lifts. Everybody keeps everybody safe. Everybody coaches everybody. Everybody pushes everybody to succeed.
