    Default Alex's Log

My previous training log can be found here: Alex's Training Log

I am a 20 year-old male currently studying philosophy at University of Illinois. One day I hope to become a SSC. I finished up my LP a few months ago at 310x5x3 for Squat and have begun to move on to intermediate training. I am currently on Texas Method.

    Stats:
    Male, 20, 6'1", 215

    Best Lifts:
    Squat: 330x5
    Deadlift: 325x5
    Press:125x5, 135x1
    Bench: 185x5

My main training goal is to reach 405x5 on both the squat and deadlift, as well as 225x5 on the press. Another goal is to get a 1,000 pound total. I am competing in the USSF this spring and will be trying to do my own programming, based on Practical Programming, up to that point.

Easy light day of TM. I narrowed my stance slightly. Hard to maintain good technique with low weights for me. Gotta work.

    Squat
    235x5x2
    Bench
    170x5x3
    Chins
    5, 4, 3

Terrible training session. Should not have gone drinking. Will be running BBM 12 week press template starting Monday for my meet prep.

    Squat
    320x5
    Press
    130x3, x1
    Deadlift
    320x3, x1

First session of the Barbell Medicine press template. Getting used to using RPE. Singles should've been an 8, but they both felt much easier.

    Squat
    335x1 @7.5, 290x5, 280x5
    Press
    135x1 @7, 120x4x2
    Close Grip Incline
    95x10, 105x10, 115x10

High bar is garbage. Deadlift technique improving.

    Deadlift
    335x1 @8, 285x5x2
    Bench
    195x1 @8, 170x4x2
    High Bar Squat
    205x10, 225x10

Enjoy this exercise variation, but I do miss the regular squat and press. :'(

    95x4, 105x4, 115x4, 125x4

Should be back in full strength next week.

    Squat
    340x1 @9, 270x5x5
    Press
140x1 @10 (misgrooved on my first attempt), 115x5x5
Yeah man I’m the same way. If I get sick the absolute strength is mostly there but that’s it. Any sort of volume and I’m just wrecked. Feel better and keep working!

All my e1RM's went down a little this week which sucks, but that should be expected with sickness. Hoping to be back fully next week. I'll be eating like hell.

    Deadlift
    335x1 @8.5, 275x5x5
    Bench
    200x1 @8.5, 165x4x5

Nice to see a fellow student of philosophy on here. I'll be curious to see how you like the BBM Press template. Good luck!

Ha, I knew there would be at least one more. We'll have to see how much progress I make. I enjoy the split it has me on and it uses a combination of RPE and % which is great. Similar to the Bridge, but the template it gives you is a great way to track your progress.
