Had a long talk with my head oncologist. Monthly blood test good. My only complaint was the slow weight loss. We are both sure the nausea and lack of appetite are due to the chemo.
Good news is only four more months starting next week.
Then we had the discussion of options. He understands bigger is stronger and that I am probably his first patient in that situation. He has been aware of my powerlifting since my first cancer diagnosis. He is genuinely interested and asks a lot of questions. I consider myself very fortunate especially given the million stories. I attribute being prepared for these conversations from the knowledge and language I've gained from this site. I really have a story to tell soon, I hope.
One option is stay the course. The second option are appetite meds. And the third option, which is not in his lane, are anabolics. He understands how powerfull these are and is aware in transgender cases he has been medically involved with (ftm).
With four months left I think that “ride it out” was an easy choice.
Glad things are going well!
