Amanda, you'll learn quickly that the women on this website are welcomed very sincerely into the strength training community. You're going to receive a bombardment of assistance, encouragement and congratulations with every PR. Those of us that don't lift with our significant others already all wish our significant others would join us.

    Welcome :-)

You should copyright this, it's very good. Unless you stole it from somewhere, of course :-)
    And the nails thing...yuck !

I wish you all the success possible with your lifts. Keep up the good work.

Anyone else have this issue: I am clearly logged in and try to reply to my own thread and after typing it tells me I am not logged in and I have to retype. I am sure it is user error

    Anyway...
    week 1 5/3/1

    DL
    5x100
    5x115
    10x135

Low Row superset w/ Lat Pulldown
    3x20x40 of each

    BB upright rows
    2x10x30
    15x30
    5x40

Notes: 1. gym still smells like skunk. It has been 4+ days. Opening the doors and windows is not working. ugh. get a cleaning crew in there. 2. To the guy who loaded 405 on the DL bar and then stood there talking all night... Thanks! I had to steal from the squat rack to do my DL tonight. next time hold your sorority meeting by the treadmills.

My whole point of the log was accountibility. I am terribly unorganized in every facet of my life, I embrace that. I am spontaneous. So I will try to do better, but no promises. I have been lifting thought, and that is what matters in the end. I think this was my session from 10/15

    Week 1
    Press
    5x40
    5x45
    7x50

some other stuff that I cant remember... which is why 1. i need a partner and 2. I need to write this down

    Week 2
Well did not start off well. Squat day turned to DL day because I was like 3rd in line at the squat rack. It took every once of control to not correct the poor form of the guys at the rack. not even close to parallel or horizontal. I may not post big numbers, but my form rocks.
    so...
    DL
    3x115
    3x125
    9x135

    Backraises
    4x15x10
    leg raises
    5x20

Looks like you're doing well, keep it up!
I also find it very difficult to resist correcting other people's form. In the end I think it's better to keep it to oneself.

Keep up the great work. I also agree, trying to correct someone's form usually doesn't end well. Most guys don't want their egos crushed by being told their doing nothing but working partials.

A shame nobody offered you to work-in.
It would have been interesting for them to see a different technique.

I totally appreciate all the feedback and the support. It is sometimes hard being one of just a few woman lifting. At my gym, I have never seen another woman squat or DL. I am slowly developing credibility amongst the guys at the gym and even got some encouragement yesterday. Not knocking the under 30 crowd, I was there once too, but I guess I am kinda old fashioned in that I believe 1. woman should be respected and 2. when you are in your 20s, you think you know everything, but often know very little. Something happens in your 30s. a life shift. You begin to become you and you stop caring about what everyone else thinks. Not that I mind those 20 somethings around the gym..... everyone needs some eyecandy!
