Both the Left and Right flavours of the British media are describing "Syrian rebels" (and not "terrorists" or "insurrectionists") as closing in on Damascus.

So you know some fucking satanic douchebags from the CIA Special Activities Center and MI6 are running the show, as in Ukraine.

I really have no idea. It is a good way to highlight some differences between the US and us though. For some reason it is not in our collective culture to rebel or force change.

Even with daylight savings in WA we had a referendum, voted no and the government still made us do a multi year trial on it, and then we voted no again. They still bring it up every few years waiting for a new generation to change their mind.

Same with COVID, nobody wanted the shots but as soon as they said you can't work or go to a cafe almost everyone did it. Multiple times without much complaint.

It must be to do with our convict or indigenous origins where we just cannot defy the authorities or we'll face the consequences. It's like being prisoners or slaves is now burnt into the majority of the population's brains.

People that are transported by governments and NGO's to your neighbourhood are not your neighbours. You are a fool.

Is that really how you read that sentence? It's like you choose to miss the point when someone isn't having the conversation you want to have.

You do not know much about Australian history do you Martin?

How about all the wars in which Australian fought and died?

Vietnam, Afghanistan, WW! , WW2, Korea and so on. You must be a pommy import.

Amazing, how the UK joined the autocratic tyrannies of the world so quietly: https://x.com/stillgray/status/1865616406504468719

They are awfully polite as they arrest you for thought crimes. Posted on Facebook. Perhaps the Stasi was more harsh? And where do they hire these people?

Well, the mental health institutions were shut down back in the 80s, and here we are today...

    I'm not a pommy import, I'm 7th generation.

I stand by what I said and you missed the point. That's one moment in our history and sure there are more examples of some small rebellions but on a whole, we are not like that. That is my opinion.

The wars are more an example of my point than they are yours. How many of those were our own? Were we not marching to someone else's drum? My ancestors died in many of those, and you think you've got a right to say I'm not an Australian because I glossed over every single little thing that has happened in our history in a forum post?

You answer his question then if you don't like what mine was.

wal, loving people is your choice. Having people illegally trafficked to your country, in violation of the law, and then given primacy of financial support with taxpayer dollars while actual citizens and taxpayers receive nothing is NOT love. Allowing them to flee their country in lieu of helping them build it up is NOT love. For anyone at anytime.

If you want to help them help themselves where they are with your time, money and labor that is both noble and righteous, but a government doing it without your consent is devoid of both charity and righteousness.
