    Very informative. Two questions though.

1.) Re: Letting go of the bar at the top. I understand that is bad and potentially damaging the bar, but how much does one really need to slow the bar down as they're putting it down? I've always pretty much let it go down as fast as it wants while still holding onto it so it lands flush and doesn't roll away or anything.
2.) How do I grow a thick, full mustache like your assistant there?

oh! man, THANKS! rip --- these are so awesome and such a great reminder of things you didn't realize you had forgotten - the cues are especially helpful (for those who work out in garage gyms)

after the squat video, am sure all of us were hoping that someday you'd do the other lifts --- and here it is and then your christmas in march - showing that the press is coming soon to a theater near you!

your site just keeps getting better and better - just like your linear progression or the japanese concept of kaizen (continued incremental improvement)...you just keep taking it up a notch time and time again

    just THANKS!

You set the bar down as fast as you can without letting go of it, once it's heavy. As described in the book.

    Ask your dad.

Excellent video. Any time I feel as though I'm forgetting basic cues, I'll always refer back to the book or these videos.

I'm waiting for the first guy to post a comment with "this technique has been debunked by world class powerlifters" type of bullshit. I'd like to get the "We're not Powerlifters" quote you emphatically made in the Onnit interview several times on a loop when I read that classic argument the Internet folk make.

Extra matting under the right side of the bar. Leg length discrepancy on our manly friend, not wanting to put the shim under the foot and distract from the general education nature of the video?

There is a mat on both sides because there is a dent in the platform under both plates. You didn't notice this when you were here? And how would making the bar uneven benefit a short leg?

The look of exasperation after the third time you told him to squeeze his chest up, and he instead stands up, is priceless.
I work with stagehands, and no matter how many times you've successfully given instructions to others, there's always the few that misinterpret your words in the most unexpected ways.
    Great video regardless.

If I'd seen this video a few weeks earlier, I wouldn't have had to enquire about the histrionic use of the drop from the top. Not that I have once, ever, done this.
