    Me Rippetoe,
Have U ever heard of an athlete lifting Olympic style with herniated discs? More specifically "sciatica"? I fear that my Olympic lifting career is over

I have heard of this, yes. But you are conflating herniated discs with sciatica. Sciatica is not always associated with a herniated disc, and a herniated disc does not always cause sciatica.

Type complete words on this board.

OP is probably a troll, but the rumor was that Ilya Ilin has a herniated disc or several.

Ok so my case has to do with sciatica due to herniated discs. Any thoughts?

Just throwing this out there, what does everyone think the incidence of herniated discs in the general population is? That is to say, if I were to MRI every single person I see out in public on a given day, what percentage of them will have a herniated disc, or several? 5%? 10%?

    I'll say 40 to 50%.

Yeah, it's over 50%. It's over 50% in people who have never had a single day of back pain. Herniated discs are the grey hairs of the spine.
