Resenting rich men north of Richmond

Victimhood is now de rigueur for nearly all groups, even “elites.” The new popular victimhood anthem for rural blue-collar men is “Rich Men North of Richmond,” in which an Appalachian singer inveighs against the corruptions of the ruling class.

He might be a pot stirrer but I just don't think a short guy called "Ramaswamy" can be voted President, even in a fair election.

I forgot where I read it, but it was in reference to the deep state and how they corrupt "mavericks" and as an explanation as too how how every single politician is a disappointment.

Paraphrasing: It doesn't matter what your election promises are, when you get elected, the next day Men in Suits will sit you down and explain how things really are.

Hell they'll probably agree with everything you promised and then point out why those solutions can't work because here's the projections of what will happen if you implement the solution.

Every politician changes their tune once they get elected. And no matter how much of a maverick you are, you don't get there without knowing that the facade of politics is bullshit and "what the people want" is inherently stupid and contradictory.

I can't recall any politician ever telling the truth about this but I can't imagine it would be a successful strategy.

Good for you. I long ago decided that I am perfectly capable of enjoying an art form or presentation in spite of disagreement with the artist. For all I know, the guy is a dumb bastard who believes in sight words and long distance cardio and puts pineapple on his pizza. I don't care. I like the sound and feel of the song.

Yes, I know he pimped the vax and still does. But he never proposed or supported mandating it as far as I know. I think his only concern in pushing it out there was to allow the economy to get going ASAP. As we have seen in the aftermath, the consequences of turning entire sections of society off for an extended time are still hitting us today. So while it was ultimately a blunder rushing these things out, he never seemed to intend to force anyone to take them, just have them there for anyone who's super freaked out about COVID so everything could reopen as soon as possible.
That's about how I feel. I'm not going to agree very much with someone who is the type of person to be in politics. I'll settle for "headed approximately the same direction on a number of ideas." I'm open to changing my mind about the Hindu. But for now, your post pretty much sums it up for me.

I can't have what I want. What I want is a leader who has done the shit he/she is asking us to do. I want a leader who's led troops into battle, survived hardship, had to self reflect and adapt to survive. I want someone self-possessed and driven enough that they can't be threatened or cajoled. That person doesn't exist in the political realm, probably. The choices are paltry and not worth us.

Agreed. It's acceptable to point out that you are in fact being pissed on rather than rained on -- it's what you do after that that counts.

Default Spike Proteins through food supply?

    starting strength coach development program
Reader's Digest version: Pigs are being injected with spike proteins (mRNA/prions) making eating pork a vaccination along with associated unwanted baggage. Beef is next.

This sounds a bit too "on the nose" (horrifically). The language used in the article could be less biased.
