    Hercules is also never portrayed as a small guy. He is the strongest human in mythology ever, I think.

    Is Hercules stronger than Thor? Scandinavians are generally bigger than Greeks.

    Hard to tell. They both beat up a bunch of giants. Thor has got a day of the week named after him though.

    As a person of Greek ancestry, I say this is not a fair comparison. Hercules was half mortal. You have to compare gods to gods. How about Ares vs. Thor?

    They kept Ares away from Hercules so that Hercules doesn’t beat him up.

    That gives Herc the advantage of hybrid vigor. Mules are stout.

    They both got the famous weapon, the hammer and the club. Romans were identifying Thor with Hercules when they first heard of the stories. Plus both of them are likable in the myths. Ares was kind of feared but hated, more like a stupid Loki.
