Amanda Sheppard Amanda Sheppard is an SSC currently coaching out of the Starting Strength Beaverton location. Prior to working for the franchise, Amanda was a collegiate strength coach for 6.5 years. She started as a graduate assistant at her alma mater, Northern Illinois University (NIU). After that she accepted her first assistant position at Sacramento State working alongside Jared Nessland and Tom DiStasio, two current SSCs, from 2015-2017. After that stint, she held the position of Olympic Director of Sports Performance back at NIU from 2017-2019.
