    A nice workout today, despite a lot of personal stress in my life right now. Felt much better after the workout.

    Sometimes a physical stress helps clear our minds if even for the duration of the WO. I reading in Muscle and Fitness in an article about Robert Blake (Barreta) that he often woke up in the middle of the night when under stress and lifted weights. I guess it didn't always work for him.LOL

    I tried dead-stop BP from about 2 1/2" off my chest today, in the hopes it might improve my start. I've been inching my SQ singles up for the last three weeks, but frankly, I think I'm about done with that tactic...a year after my last meet, the weights are just feeling REALLY HEAVY LOL! I know I haven't been on top of my nutrition lately, but besides that, I'm just ready to take a new tack.

    Today's workout was brief compared to my usual. I did a little extra chest work, besides my BP.

    I may not be logging much for a bit, though I will try to train when and as I can. My dad is in failing health and has decided to wait it out at home, without any outside assistance, except for my mom. He hasn't been to a doctor since last year, and has no intentions to see one again. I did a brief workout yesterday while visiting them for a few days, but it's more to take my mind off the situation. I worked up to the following numbers;
    BP - 155x5
    Incline press - 110x6
    Rack pull - 315x5
    Pulldown - 175x10
    Seated row - 165x6

    Do what you can when you can, Walt. You've got your priorities straight.

    We're pulling for you.

    I am sorry to hear this news Walt. Loosing a loved one either in the hospital or at home is never a good situation. At least you have had him around a good period of time longer than I had my dad as he has been gone since 2000 and my mother since 1986. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

    Sorry to read this. I will say from personal experience if there is an in home hospice available I would try and use it.
    Do some abbreviated work outs when ever time permits. Take care of yourself and your Mom.

    My dad will never accept hospice care, as long as he's conscious and coherent. I'll do whatever I can to help my mom, of course... thanks Jerry

    I understand. I only had them come in for my wife and my Mom the last week or so of their lives. It helped me and they supplied some meds to ease the suffering of the patient.
