I smile whenever I see your report of a new adventure with your granddaughter. Keep it up, my friend. They get older quickly.

Final exam time: Water park weekend. I look forward to it.
Have found some improved recovery with music by 432 Hertz.
I play it when I sleep and find my heart rate is 7 to 10 lower with the music.
As Rip says, sleep is the most anabolic substance there is. I find I have to quit the
music an hour before I want to get up. Despite crappy workout diligence (see above)
I feel a lot better and stronger. I believe this will show up in my workouts soon and
in my performance at the water park with my 2 year old granddaughter.

    432 Hertz
(if you have amazon music and alexa {not a recommendation, but my reality} to get a reasonable playlist
I say: "alexa, play relaxation songs by 432 hertz". You can just say songs by 432 hertz but you get a lot of
songs that wake me up if you do. You can also find these things on youtube, and most likely other music providers.
There are other similar groups that I have not tried yet.

Carson: You are correct! (as usual) This is the golden age of being a grandparent.

Bill Anders: 2 is a great age. As with any age there are frustrations, but it is uncommonly rewarding!

BrooklynJerry: Having a clear purpose is the cheat code to life.

    SOUS VIDE
Being retired and attempting to learn to cook I have stumbled across a wild value.
I can buy chuck steak for $5.50/lb at Costco. I've made a number of tries at making chuck steak "ok-ish"
largely involving slow cooking / grill.

Reading up on sous vides techniques I found a number of videos that claimed that with a sous vide you could make
Chuck steaks as good as ribeyes. Given the 4x cost differential, and my experience with both I was "skeptical". But my daughter
offered to let me "use" (aka store) her largely unused sous vide.

I use costco gallon freezer bags and my daughters Anova sous vide (a good one I think). I cook the 2" thick (this is important to timing) chuck steaks at 150 for 4 hours. (actually 2.5 to 4 hrs regular and 3.5 to 5 hours from frozen). It is great. I now have more than enough excellent steak.

Prep: pat the steaks dry sprinkle on Montreal Steak Seasoning (Costco) and press it in a little, bag and refrigerate over night.
Sous vide at 150 for 3.5 to 4 hours (add hour for frozen)
Pat dry and grill 3 min each side.
Also makes great leftovers. I typically freeze the second bag to give flexibility as to when I make it.
