The squats felt great after taking a total day of rest yesterday. No work at all. I needed the rest from work and lifting.

Now out to paint the deck.

I used this to drive me through this workout...

Sometimes a real rest day is just what the doctor ordered, some good music helps.

It's raining and it's great. We were very dry. Nice break from perfect weather. I have been playing Black Sabbath and some other doom metal sounding bands. I just need an old stone castle to set the mood further...ha!

We so need that here! Summer is still on a tear, with us some 10-15 degrees above normal for our highs and no hope for rain until the weekend after next. But there are some upsides to it for later in the winter, as snowfall this early spells trouble for avalanches.

re: Black Sabbath - I am so glad that I learned of them so many decades ago. As you mentioned, they sent me down a trail of doom, which branched out into so many other styles of music that can all point back to Sabbath as an influence.

    Build that castle!

More outside work...it's good weather but I am getting a bit burnt out with all the work on the property.

I myself am double minded. Because the Bermuda grass of the lawns starts going dormant when the overnight lows dip below 60F, I celebrate not having to mow every week. But then I get sick of looking at the brown, dormant Bermuda throughout the winter, and I celebrate when the overnight lows get above 60F and it turns back to green.
