After being hospitalized for three weeks in 2019, Lewanna was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. After going through chemotherapy, she was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis and reduced to walking with a walker. But her husband Kujo, an Air Force veteran, was a Starting Strength adherent and sought out the help of Starting Strength Oklahoma City. They made training a family affair, and now Kujo, Lewanna, and Konrad all have made remarkable progress together at the gym.
